The Role

The Executive Director will lead MFS’s work in DuPage County, guiding a team dedicated to strengthening families and communities. Reporting to the Executive Team, this role oversees strategic planning, community partnerships, program development, and staff leadership. The ED will represent MFS both internally and externally—building relationships with funders, providers, and civic leaders while ensuring continued excellence in service delivery and innovation.


What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in social work, education, public health, psychology, business administration, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience in human services or related sectors and at least 5 years in senior management. Candidates should bring:

  • Proven success managing multimillion-dollar organizations
  • Experience in fundraising, finance, and external relations
  • Strong knowledge of programs supporting behavioral health, early childhood, and family services
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to make decisive, mission-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and team management skills
