Overview

The American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) is the nation’s oldest organization founded by and governed by parents of Deaf children. Since 1967, ASDC has supported families raising children who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing with mentoring, advocacy, resources, and collaborative networks. The nonprofit is dedicated to empowering families through full language and communication access in inclusive environments.

The Role

The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive officer, reporting to the Board of Directors. This role provides leadership and oversight of strategy, fundraising, financial management, and program development. The ED will guide staff, contractors, and volunteers while ensuring ASDC’s mission is advanced through advocacy, community engagement, and strong organizational growth.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has senior nonprofit leadership experience with strengths in fundraising, strategic planning, and financial management. Experience managing diverse teams and working with boards is required. Fluency or familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred. Candidates may be parents of Deaf children, or Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing individuals themselves. A passion for empowering Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children and families is essential.
