Emanuel Food Pantry, the largest food pantry in Durham County, provides fresh, nutritious food to families facing food insecurity, with a focus on underserved communities. By addressing hunger, the organization enhances dignity, improves health outcomes, and strengthens community well-being.
The Executive Director will serve as both the public face and chief leader of the organization, responsible for overall management and strategic direction. This includes operations oversight, financial stability, fundraising, staff leadership, and community engagement. The ED will ensure the pantry remains efficient, sustainable, and mission-focused while collaborating closely with the Board of Directors on governance and long-term planning.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and brings at least 5 years of nonprofit or related leadership experience. They should have a strong track record in fundraising, community engagement, and team management, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A deep commitment to hunger relief and social justice is essential, with a strong preference for candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English.
