Overview

Healthy Climate New Mexico (HCNM) mobilizes healthcare and public health professionals to advocate for climate solutions that protect health and promote equity. Founded in 2023, HCNM has grown to more than 300 members statewide, leveraging the collective voice of health professionals to advance meaningful climate and health action.

The Role

The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive, responsible for organizational strategy, fundraising, and operations. Working with the Board, staff, and volunteers, the ED will expand advocacy and education efforts, strengthen infrastructure, and build partnerships with communities across New Mexico.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of nonprofit leadership experience, with a strong track record in fundraising, financial management, and policy advocacy. A bachelor’s degree is required (advanced degree preferred). Knowledge of public health and healthcare systems, commitment to equity and environmental justice, and deep ties to New Mexico communities are essential. Residency in New Mexico and in-state travel are required.
