Overview

Lummi Island Heritage Trust is a nonprofit land trust dedicated to preserving the nature of Lummi Island. Guided by science, community, and integrity, the organization works to protect and restore natural systems, honor cultural heritage, and build community resilience.

The Role

The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive, responsible for strategic leadership, fundraising, and organizational management. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the ED ensures the organization’s programs in land conservation, stewardship, and community engagement continue to thrive while maintaining financial health and community trust.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has proven leadership experience in nonprofit management, with a strong track record in fundraising, donor engagement, and staff leadership. A bachelor’s degree is required. Direct experience with land trusts, conservation practices, or environmental policy is strongly preferred. A passion for conservation and community-based sustainability is essential.
