The Milk with Dignity Standards Council (MDSC) is a unique nonprofit founded by farmworkers through Migrant Justice’s Milk with Dignity Program. Based in Burlington, VT, MDSC works to secure human rights for dairy workers by enforcing standards on participating farms, conducting audits, and investigating complaints. The organization partners with farmworkers, farmers, and corporations to transform labor and housing conditions across the dairy industry.
The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive, overseeing program implementation, staff management, fundraising, and strategic direction. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will ensure effective enforcement of worker protections, strengthen partnerships, and advance MDSC’s mission of worker-driven human rights enforcement in the dairy industry.
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of leadership or program experience in human rights, workers’ rights, or social justice, plus 5 years of management experience. Experience working with immigrant or rural populations is required, as well as familiarity with negotiating contracts, conflict resolution, and fundraising. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
