Alley Cat Advocates is a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of unowned cats in the Louisville region. Since 1999, the organization’s nationally recognized Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program has spayed or neutered more than 75,000 community cats—dramatically reducing populations and transforming the culture of care. Each year, ACA responds to nearly 8,000 service calls and provides spay/neuter services to over 6,000 cats.
The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive, overseeing fundraising and donor development, veterinary and clinic operations, and overall organizational management. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the ED will lead strategic growth initiatives, ensure operational excellence, and serve as the public face of Alley Cat Advocates across the region and beyond.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of nonprofit leadership experience—preferably in animal welfare or TNR program management. Strong skills in fundraising, finance, staff supervision, and strategic planning are essential. Experience in veterinary or high-volume spay/neuter settings is a plus. Comfort working closely with cats is required, as is a passion for humane and effective solutions to animal overpopulation.
