Overview
The Anderson Museum of Art (AMOA), housed in a historic 1905 Carnegie building, inspires creativity and connection through exhibitions, education, and outreach. AMOA is entering a period of exciting growth, including the creation of a new Children’s Art Therapy Center, expanded Art Wellness programming, and ongoing historic preservation projects.
The Role
The Executive Director will provide visionary and operational leadership, overseeing fundraising, programming, facilities, and community engagement. This role includes guiding capital campaign efforts, managing historic preservation projects, and ensuring AMOA continues to serve as a creative and cultural anchor for Central Indiana.
What They’re Looking For
Candidates should have 4–5 years of progressive nonprofit or cultural leadership experience, with demonstrated skills in fundraising, grant writing, financial oversight, and community engagement. A bachelor’s degree is required (master’s preferred). Experience with historic building management, donor platforms, and programming for diverse audiences is a plus.
