Overview

The Esophageal Cancer Action Network (ECAN) is a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to saving lives through awareness, advocacy, and research about Esophageal Cancer. ECAN empowers patients and families, influences policy, and drives groundbreaking research to change the course of this devastating disease.

The Role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as ECAN’s chief executive. The ED will provide strategic vision, oversee operations, lead a dedicated team, drive fundraising, and build strong partnerships to expand ECAN’s reach and impact.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has at least five years of senior nonprofit leadership experience with success in strategy, fundraising, and organizational growth. Strong board relations, communication skills, and expertise in leveraging digital platforms are essential. A passion for patient advocacy and a personal connection to cancer-related causes is strongly valued. A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
