Overview

Global Foundation for Girls (GFG) is a Black female and youth-led intermediary organization dedicated to advancing equity and justice for girls, gender-diverse youth, birthing persons of color, and children in crisis around the world. Founded in 2020, GFG works to redirect wealth distribution to BIPOC-led community organizations and serves as an advocate, resource provider, and network for social justice initiatives in the areas of racial, gender, and birth justice.


The Role

The Executive Director of Philanthropy & Development will play a key leadership role in driving fundraising strategy and partnership development. Working closely with the Board Chair and Development Board, the ED will cultivate major donor relationships, secure institutional funding, and grow GFG’s network of corporate and philanthropic partners. This role focuses on short-term donor engagement and relationship building to advance GFG’s mission areas, including Birth & Reproductive Justice, Racial Justice, Gender-Based Violence, and Crisis Response.


What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has a strong background in philanthropy, development, or foundation leadership, with demonstrated success in securing major gifts and cultivating high-net-worth donors. Experience with intermediary or trust-based philanthropy models is essential, as well as familiarity with grassroots and social justice movements.

  • Proven ability to generate $25K in funding within six months and $100K within one year
  • Experience with foundation start-ups or seed fundraising
  • Skilled at donor engagement and partnership development
  • Collaborative, anti-oppressive leadership style and experience managing remote teams
  • Passion for racial and gender justice, youth empowerment, and reproductive rights

Compensation: Volunteer consultant role with a modest stipend until seed funding is secured
