Overview
Life Story Club (LSC) is a nonprofit dedicated to combating loneliness among older adults by fostering connections through storytelling. The organization runs social clubs—online, by phone, and in-person—where trained facilitators guide participants in sharing and preserving life stories. LSC partners with community-based organizations, government agencies, libraries, and health systems to reach older adults most at risk of isolation, including those who are homebound, low-income, or part of immigrant or LGBTQ communities.
The Role
The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive, responsible for strategy, fundraising, and organizational growth. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the ED will lead staff, strengthen fundraising infrastructure, and expand LSC’s programs and partnerships. The ED ensures the organization scales its impact while maintaining its community-driven mission.
What They’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of leadership experience in human services or related fields, with a strong track record in fundraising, financial management, and program scaling. Experience growing teams (5–10 people), developing infrastructure, and leading an organization from start-up to scale is essential. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are required, along with a passion for improving the wellbeing of older adults.
