Executive Director — Purrfect Pals (Arlington, WA)

Overview

Purrfect Pals is Washington State’s first no-kill cat shelter, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and adopting out cats—including those with chronic illnesses, behavioral challenges, and major medical needs. Each year, the organization helps hundreds of cats find safe, healthy, and loving homes, with support from a strong base of staff, volunteers, and donors.

The Role

The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive, responsible for strategy, fundraising, operations, and community engagement. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the ED ensures financial health, organizational growth, and excellence in animal welfare while serving as the public face of Purrfect Pals.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management or a related field. Strong skills in fundraising, finance, operations oversight, and community engagement are essential. A bachelor’s degree is required; experience in animal welfare or shelter operations is highly desirable. A passion for cat welfare and a collaborative, people-centered leadership style are musts.
