Executive Director — RiNo General Improvement District (Denver, CO)

Overview

The RiNo General Improvement District (GID) is a public entity dedicated to enhancing the River North neighborhood of Denver—home to artists, creative industries, and diverse communities. Since 2015, the GID has supported infrastructure, public art, and placemaking projects that strengthen RiNo’s role as one of Denver’s most vibrant hubs for culture, entertainment, and community life.

The Role

The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive, providing strategic leadership, financial oversight, and operational management. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the ED will guide infrastructure improvements, coordinate with city agencies and stakeholders, and ensure the GID delivers safe, clean, and community-driven projects.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of leadership experience in public sector management, ideally with a city agency, special district, or similar entity. Strong skills in budgeting, program oversight, community relations, and regulatory compliance are essential. A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or a related field is required (or equivalent experience). A passion for public service and community impact is a must.

• Salary range: $125,000–$135,000 + health, dental, vision, retirement, and PTO
