Overview

Salem Angels is a nonprofit chapter of the National Angels network, dedicated to changing the way children, youth, and families experience foster care. Through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship, Salem Angels provides radical support to improve outcomes for children in foster care and strengthen communities.

The Role

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive, responsible for overall leadership, fundraising, operations, and program oversight. Reporting to the Board of Directors (with guidance from National Angels), the ED will lead the chapter from its start-up phase into sustainable long-term growth. The role includes building partnerships, inspiring donors, and ensuring program excellence while representing Salem Angels in the community.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant leadership experience (or equivalent). Master’s degree and 3+ years, or 10+ years in social services accepted.
• Proven success in fundraising, donor cultivation, and team management.
• Strong organizational, communication, and financial management skills.
• A passion for supporting children, youth, and families in foster care.

Preferred qualifications include experience with planned giving, annual funds, and closing major gifts. Candidates must pass state and federal background checks and be willing to work some evenings/weekends.

• Salary range: $62,000–$74,000 annually + PTO, 8 paid holidays, educational stipend, and Flex Fridays.
