The California Women’s Law Center (CWLC) is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing the rights of women and girls through litigation, policy advocacy, and education. Since 1989, CWLC has been a leading voice for gender equity in California, addressing issues such as Title IX enforcement, reproductive justice, violence prevention, and economic security. With $3M in reserves and strong state and foundation support, CWLC is poised for strategic growth and expanded impact.
The Executive Director will serve as the chief executive, responsible for overall strategy, fundraising, operations, and partnerships. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the ED ensures that CWLC delivers effective legal advocacy, policy initiatives, and public education to advance equity across California.
The ideal candidate has extensive leadership experience in nonprofit, advocacy, or legal services settings. Strong skills in fundraising, strategic planning, financial management, and coalition building are essential. A JD is not required, but the ability to navigate complex legal and policy issues is critical. A demonstrated commitment to gender equity and social justice is required.
